Nine New Jersey county vocational-technical schools were ranked among the top public high schools in the United States by the Daily Beast (the on-line version of the former Newsweek magazine) 2014 Best High Schools survey.
Bergen Academies in Hackensack, Union County Magnet High School in Scotch Plains, High Technology High School in Lincroft, Biotechnology High School in Freehold, Union County Academy of Allied Health Sciences in Scotch Plains, Union County Technical High School in Scotch Plains and High Tech High School in North Bergen were named among the top 25 high schools in the Northeast.
The Union County Academy of Performing Arts also ranked among the top 100 schools nationwide, and the Union County Academy of Performing Arts also made the list.
A total of 49 New Jersey high schools were included in the rankings.
“…the over 700 schools that make up our final list deserve high praise for providing an academically rigorous program for the most students, while best preparing them for college,” the story stated.
