Governor Phil Murphy and Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver have issued a proclamation designating February, 2018, as Career and Technical Education Month in New Jersey.
The proclamation reads, in part:
Whereas, career and technical education programs incorporate a rigorous academic core coupled with a high-level technical curriculum to prepare students to be college and career ready; and
Whereas, career and technical education builds collaborative connections among education, economic development and workforce development to support healthy economic growth; and…
Whereas, the comprehensive, innovative approach of career and technical education prepares students as global citizens for a lifetime of career and education choices…
More than 33,000 high school students and more than 6,000 adult students attend New Jersey’s 21 county vocational-technical school districts.
