The Morris County Vocational School District is offering a new Academy for Sports Medicine and Management. Eighth-grade students eligible to attend a Morris County high school and their parents are invited to attend an Information Session on November 11th at 7pm at Butler high School to learn more.
The Academy for Sports Medicine and Management will be located at Butler High School. Academy coursework will consist of exercise science, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, athletic training and sports marketing, and will include certifications in First Aid, CPR, and personal fitness training.
The Morris County Vocational School District offers eleven academies: Child Related Careers, Computer and Information Science, Culinary Arts, Design, Finance and International Business, Health Care Sciences, Law & Public Safety, Mathematics, Science and Engineering, Sports Medicine and Management, Veterinary Science, and Visual & Performing Arts.
The Academies are individual magnet high schools that offer students a challenging and exciting curriculum designed to prepare them for the rigors of college and a future career. Additionally, our students enjoy all the benefits of an athletic program and extra-curricular activities within a “small school atmosphere”.
Students take a college-preparatory program that provides them with multiple options after graduation, including admission to some of the finest colleges and universities or a career path to entry-level employment in some of the nation’s fastest growing industries.
Applications are now available for completion at www.mcvts.org under Admissions. The application deadline for an eighth-grade student to apply is November 22, 2013.
