Sixteen Gloucester County Institute of Technology seniors were awarded the Achievement Award from Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) at their High School Collegiate Scholars Ceremony on May 9, 2019.
The Achievement Award is given to students who have earned their Associates Degree while concurrently enrolled at GCIT. These students will walk in the RCGC Commencement Ceremony on May 16, 2019 and in GCIT’s Ceremony on June 13, 2019.
In total, GCIT had over 250 students that were recognized at the event because they were concurrently enrolled at RCGC while in high school, earned 12 or more credits and maintained a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. The 250 students who were honored earned a total of 7,582 college credits – 99 students earned 30 or more RCGC credits, 135 with 15-29 credits and 29
with 12-14 credits.
Students had the opportunity to earn the college credits while attending high school at the same time through the Duel Credits and the High School Option Program (HSOP.) GCIT students have college level courses built into their specific program curriculum allowing them to earn Duel Credits. Students are then able to take additional college courses through the High School Option Program (HSOP) which offers a 65 percent discount off of Rowan College’s (RCGC) tuition and per credit fees.
The Gloucester County Institute of Technology’s high school graduation ceremony will be held on June 13 at 6:00p.m., on the RCGC campus.
